Daniela Amézquita es una fotógrafa, videógrafa y editora mexicana que actualmente radica en El Bronx, NY. Egresada de la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana unidad Xochimilco, Daniela inició su carrera como fotógrafa cubriendo bodas y fiestas de quinceañeras. Posteriormente trabajó para la Cineteca Nacional como encargada del área de Medios Audiovisuales en el periodo del 2011 al 2018 y colaboró como creadora de contenido audiovisual para diversas exposiciones de cine, entre las que destacan “Stanley Kubrick. La exposición” y “¿Actuamos como caballeros o como lo que somos? El humor en el cine mexicano”, ambas expuestas en La Galería de la Cineteca Nacional.
También se ha desempeñado como editora para exposiciones en el Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes y para la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, donde colaboró con la creación de audiovisuales para el concierto “La música de Stanley Kubrick”. En el 2019 egresó del New Media Narratives One Year Certificate Program del International Center of Photography en Nueva York, donde también trabajó como asistente del Comisario de ICP Museum y como encargada del área de Permisos y Reproducciones Fotográficas en el archivo de la misma institución.
Desde 2020 colabora en Fotodemic. Reflections on a changing time, publicación digital sobre fotografía que cofundó con compañeros del ICP y Fred Ritchin. En el mismo año, colaboró con el Mexican Cultural Institute de NY en la exposición fotográfica “Pero sobre todo juntos” y recibió el 2020-2021 Bronx Documentary Center’s BDC Film Fellowship para realizar su primer cortometraje documental.
Daniela Amézquita is a Mexican photographer, videographer and editor currently based in The Bronx, NY. Graduated from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana campus Xochimilco, Daniela began her career as a photographer covering weddings and quinceañeras. She later worked for the Cineteca Nacional as head of the Audiovisual Media area from 2011 to 2018 and collaborated as creator of audiovisual content for various film exhibitions, among which stand out "Stanley Kubrick. The exhibition” and “Are we acting like gentlemen or like what we are? Humor in Mexican cinema”, both exhibited at the National Cineteca Gallery.
She has also worked as an editor for exhibitions at the Museum of the Palace of Fine Arts (Palacio de Bellas Artes) and for the National Symphony Orchestra, where she collaborated with the creation of audiovisuals for the concert “The Music of Stanley Kubrick”. In 2019, she graduated from the New Media Narratives One Year Certificate Program at the International Center of Photography in New York, where she also worked as assistant to the Curator of the ICP Museum, and as head of the Permissions and Photographic Reproductions area in the archive of the same institution.
Since 2020 she collaborates in Fotodemic. Reflections on a changing time, a digital publication on photography that she co-founded with colleagues from the ICP and Fred Ritchin. In the same year, she collaborated with the Mexican Cultural Institute of NY on the photo exhibition “But above all together”, and received the 2020-2021 Bronx Documentary Center's BDC Film Fellowship to make her first documentary short film.
